1. Training Calendar
We have added a Training Calendar to our site in order to show you what workshops are available over the coming months.

2. Chester Chamber
Upcoming Workshops at Chester Chamber are now available for booking.
Finance for the non financial manager is on the 10th of March 2011 and
How to create and monitor a Budget and plan Cash Flow is on the 13th of April 2011.

3. St Helens Chamber
Not much time left to get a place on How to create and manage a Budget. This Workshop is on the 2nd of March 2011 and bookings also via St Helens Chamber.

Finance Training update (Jan 2011)

We are off to a great start for 2011. Here is a quick update about some of the projects we are working on.

St Helens College - A series of workshops covering how to start in business and write a winning business plan. These workshops are currently only for St Helens college students as part of their degree. We expect to make this series of workshops available to the public from the 2nd quarter of 2011.

St Helens Chamber - Delivery of a series of Finance workshops in partnership with the Chamber. Our first workshop "How to create and manage a budget" is on 2 March 2011 followed by "How to manage your business finances" on 26th May 2011. West Cheshire Chamber - We look forward to continuing our role of Core Finance Trainer for West Cheshire and North Wales Chamber of Commerce.

How much money can SME's save on Accountancy Fees?

It is amazing how many SME's have spoken to us recently on seeking ways to save money on Accountancy Fees. One company commented "We don't know what our Accountant does exactly but surely we shouldn't be paying £3,000 a year. Can you help us to reduce these fees?"

One of our clients, a small consultancy firm, has a turnover of £120k and employs 2 members of staff. Their Accountant is charging them £1,200 a year for sorting out receipts, payments, sales invoices and purchase invoice, preparing Year End Accounts and a corporation tax return.
This year they invested £750 in accountancy software and training and we taught them how to do their own bookkeeping, produce quarterly management accounts and carry out necessary reconciliations. They are currently learning how to prepare their own year end file and intend to use it to negotiate new year end fees of £550 with their Accountant.

In this current economic climate should more SME's be doing this?

TQS Solutions is working in partnership CEPNW to help members save money on Accountancy Fees.

TQS Solutions and CEPNW (Chamber of Commerce Chester Ellesmere Port and North Wales) are delivering Twelve new workshops around Financial Development for delivery to CEPNW’s members in Chester, Ellesmere Port and North Wales.

The workshops are being provided to encourage businesses in the area to take ownership of accounting processes and procedures, improve Accounting activities and save money on Accountancy Fees.
